The Labbus windmill is a protected architectural and cultural monument and a contemporary witness to the technical and agricultural development of the 19th and 20th centuries. Here you can find out more about the history and technology of the mill over the last 170 years.
History of the Labbus windmill
The current mill was built in 1851 by the mill builder Fahlenkamp on behalf of the farmer Heinrich Borchers and was owned by the Henke family from 1892 to 2006. It was still in commercial operation until 1987.

Mill construction and technology
The mill's grinding and conveying technology is completely intact and corresponds to the operating condition of the 1950s and 1960s. The technology has been overhauled and repaired in recent years and is largely operational.
